Inventarisasi Lalat Buah (Diptera: Tephritidae) Pada Dua Tanaman Holtikultura Di Kecamatan Canduang Kabupaten Agam, Provinsi Sumatera Barat
The genus Bactrocera is a genus that commonly attacks horticultural plants including
chilies and eggplants. Bites from fruit fly insects cause economic losses of 20%-
40%. This study aims to inventory and identify the types of fruit flies that attack
eggplant and chilies. This research was carried out in Canduang District, Agam
Regency using exploration methods and analyzed descriptively. Traps of petrogenol
modification from bottled bottles of mineral water were used in the study. The
parameter used in the identification of fruit flies is their morphological character. B.
dorsalis and B. umbrosa flies are two types of fruit flies found in this study. B.
dorsalis is the most common fruit fly found, namely 89% and B. umbrosa as much as
11%. B. dorsalis has a key character of Pattern T that is clearly visible on the
abdomen and transparent wings while B. umbrosa does not have a T Pattern on the
abdomen and wings that have three additional band patterns.
