ARSYADJULIANDI RACHMAN SOCIAL CAPITAL ANALYSIS IN THE ELECTION OF THE GOVERNOR OF RIAU IN PEKANBARU CITY IN 2018

In the 2018 Riau Governor election, social capital became one part of the capital that could strengthen the electability of candidates to walk into the government seat. Bourdeiu said that social capital is in the form of actual and potential resources owned by a person from an institutionalized and ongoing social network that provides collective support to its members. Social capital can not be separated from what is inherent in the individual (habitus) and the arena for fighting over and maintaining capital (field). However, the lack of utilization of social capital owned by Andi Rachman is claimed to be the cause of the defeat of the Andi Rachman and Suyatno Pair in the 2018 Riau Governor Election. This study aims to describe the forms and uses of Social Capital by Arsyadjuliandi Rachman and the influence of his Social Capital in Riau Governor Election in Pekanbaru City in 2018. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Location The research was conducted in the city of Pekanbaru which was carried out using purposive procedure techniques, data collection techniques were carried out by interviews and documentation, and data analysis techniques were carried out with qualitative descriptive analysis.
The results of this study are showing that Andi Rachman does have forms of social capital that are quite large as evidenced by the forms of social capital he has including, his figure/personality, family relationships and networks, positions and achievements he has, and social organizations and groups. Social. All these forms of social capital are able to provide encouragement to get support from the community through their good use by Andi Rachman. The bad influence of unpleasant issues on the Party that became Andi Rachman's place to run as Governor of Riau in 2018 made him fail to get full support and trust from the community and ended in defeat.
