Kajian Kerentanan Wilayah Pesisir Pulau Mendol Sisi Selatan
ABSTRACT
Mendol Island is an island whose area is surrounded by coastal areas. The coastal area is an area that has a dynamic nature where this condition can affect the level of coastal vulnerability. Coastal vulnerability on the southern side of Mendol Island is influenced by physical changes at sea and on land. Coastal vulnerability on South Side Mendol Island was analyzed using the Coastal Vulnerability Area (CVI) method. The CVI method is a relative ranking method based on an index scale of physical parameters that can affect coastal vulnerability such as; shoreline change (PP), length of damage (PK), width of coastal damage (LK), land use around the coast (PL), lithology (L), beach slope (β), mean tidal distance (PS), and wave height (H). Analysis of the vulnerability of physical parameters to be carried out by observing the images. The results obtained from the coastal vulnerability analysis using the CVI method show that the South Side has various categories of coastal vulnerability. Segment I has a medium vulnerability category with a CVI value of 46. Segment III has a high vulnerability category with a CVI value of 66. Segments II and IV have a very high vulnerability category with a CVI value of 98 and 131. With the high level of coastal vulnerability on the South Side of Mendol Island, it is necessary actions in the form of countermeasures to reduce the impact of physical changes that occur in coastal areas.
