Deteksi Kelonggaran Pada Sambungan Baut Yang Mengalami Pembebanan Menggunakan Sinyal Suara
ABSTRACT
Bolts are one of the machinery elements which are used in joining. The failure that often occurs in bolted joints is looseness caused by dynamics loads. This study aims to detect bolt looseness using sound signal by analyzing the dynamic characteristics of bolt connection, namely natural frequency, damping ratio and bolt looseness position. The research method which is used Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), which is a process of identifying damage by means of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE). Excitation is given to steel plate by speaker and the sound response of loose bolt is recorded through 8 microphones. The sound signals are given under normal bolt conditions, 1 bolt, 2 bolts, 4 bolts and 8 bolts loosen, which are subjected to be loaded with various tightening torque and loads. The sound signal data then be processed using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to obtain a natural frequency and wavelet scalogram to detect the loose bolts positions. The results obtained from this study are, the natural frequency value decreases as the torque reduced. Then, the natural frequency increases as the applied load increases. The results of the comparison of wavelet scalograms can be used to detect the positions of the loosened bolts with given torque variations.
