Perilaku Tanah Lanau Plastisitas Tinggi Akibat Penambahan Kapur Dan Fly Ash
ABSTRACT
Soils improvements are mostly carried out by adding pozzolanic additive by means stabilization. This research focused on the utilization of fly ash in a mixture of high plasticity silt stabilized by 5% lime. Mechanical tests conducted to characterize the mixtures were Unconfining Compression Strength (UCS) and consolidation (Oedometer) test. Samples were mixed with fly ash and water at their optimum moisture contents (OMC). Testing were carried out on several variations of fly ash content, density, and treatment methods (curing and soaking). Changes in water content were monitored shortly after mixing, after curing, and soaking. The results showed that there were changes in water content during the mixing processes prior to the tests. Shortly after mixing moisture contents decreased, as well as after completion of 28 days of curing. On the contrary for4-day saling treatment, the moisture content increased. The change in moisture content depends on the fly ash content in the mixtures. For unsoaked mixtures, the increasing density and decreasing fly ash content resulted in increasing of qu values. In 4-day soaking conditions, the decrease in qu values depend on mixture densities and fly ash contents. Fly ash content and soil density affects the initial void ratios. The higher the load addition (LIR), the higher the compression index and swelling index. hardening will reduce the value of the soil-harvesting index, soil density does not affect the values of Cc and Cs.
