Pengembangan Buku Saku Ipa Terpadu Berbasis Literasi Sains Materi Pencemaran Lingkungan Dan Perubahan Iklim Di SMP

The development of science and technology has brought society into the
global era. Each individual is required to be able to develop his ability to compete
at the international level. One of the government's efforts to obtain human
resources in order to compete in the global era is to make efforts to improve the
quality of education. The development of teaching materials has been carried out
by teachers, but not all of these teaching materials can support the achievement of
students' scientific literacy. The factors that affect the results of students' scientific
literacy are the selection of textbooks and the low scientific accuracy of students.
The low learning outcomes may be caused by the textbooks used in the learning
process. Science textbooks based on scientific literacy should have some basic
categories. The basic categories are science as a body of knowledge, science as
an investigative nature, science as a way of thinking, and the interaction of
science, technology, and society. Based on the problems found, it is necessary to
have practical learning resources that can help students to remember a lot of
material more easily and can make students think critically in order to foster an
attitude of curiosity and foster a sense of love in solving problems that arise
during the learning process a pocket book based on scientific literacy.
This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and student responses
to the Integrated Science pocket book based on Science Literacy on environmental
pollution and climate change materials for Integrated Science in Junior High
School.
This research consists of one stage, namely the development of an
Integrated Science pocket book based on Science Literacy using Research &
Development through the ADDIE approach in the Master Program of FKIP UR
and at SMP Negeri 2 Rimba Melintang. The validation stage for scientific
literacy-based pocket books involves 5 subjects (1 media expert, 1 material expert,
1 pedagogic expert, and 2 teachers). Feasibility assessment by experts using
validation sheets. The practicality test phase involved 5 teachers and the response
test involved 84 students. Assessment of the practicality of pocket books based on
scientific literacy using questionnaire responses. Data analysis used descriptive
analysis assisted by Microsoft Office Excel 2010.
The results of the research on the development of scientific literacy-based
pocket books showed that the average validation of scientific literacy-based
pocketbooks was very valid (3, 42), while the practicality test was very practical
(81,84), and the student response test obtained an average of 86.05 with
categories very good.
The conclusion of this study is that the Integrated Science Pocket Book
based on Science Literacy on environmental pollution and climate change
materials as a result of development is classified as very valid, very practical and
very good.
