Strategi Pengembangan Industri Sabun Dan Bahan Pembersih Keperluan Rumah Tangga Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
threats and to find out the right strategy to develop the soap and household
cleaning agent industry in Pekanbaru City. The types of data used are primary
and secondary data. Primary data were obtained directly from respondents by
conducting interviews, questionnaires and documentation. While secondary data
was obtained through government agencies such as the Pekanbaru City Health
Office. The analytical method used in this research is SWOT analysis. The results
show that the strengths of the soap and household cleaning materials industry are
quality products, skilled and experienced workforce, strategic business locations,
do not cause negative effects for users, have effective cleaning power capabilities.
While the weaknesses are limited capital in developing the business, difficulty in
obtaining raw materials, lack of promotional strategies, product distribution is
not evenly distributed, and the product is not widely known. While the
opportunities for population growth, supportive economic conditions, government
support, large market potential, are household goods. And the threats are
competition with large industries, the entry of similar products from other
regions, the price of raw materials that often rises, price competition, the increase
in the number of similar businesses. Based on the SWOT analysis, it shows that
the soap and household cleaning materials industry in Pekanbaru City is in
quadrant I (aggressive strategy). This strategy focuses on the SO strategy by
using strengths to take advantage of existing opportunities. The development
strategy that can be carried out is to expand the market to traditional shops,
minimarkets, supermarkets so that the soap and household cleaning materials
business can develop, as well as maintain and improve product quality to
maintain customer confidence in the product.
