Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Pada Mata Pelajaran IPS Kelas IX MTS Negeri 3 Bengkalis
This study aims to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills
through the application of problem based learning learning models in social studies
subjects class IX MTs Negeri 3 Bengkalis. This study uses an experimental method
using the One group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was class IX.2
students, totaling 25 students. The sampling technique used in this research is
purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a description test. The
data analysis technique used descriptive analysis, normality test, hypothesis testing
and N-Gain test. The results showed that (1) the problem-based learning model could
improve students' critical thinking skills in social studies subjects class IX MTs
Negeri 3 Bengkalis which was shown in increasing students' critical thinking skills
from the initial condition with a value of 54.48 to 72.86 in final condition. (2) The t
test shows the value of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 and the average difference
between the pretest and posttest was 18.20. (3) The results of the N-Gain test show
the average gain value of 0.3968 is included in the medium category to improve
students' critical thinking skills.
