Redesign Dual-Band Antena 5g Berbasis Rekonfigurasi Frekuensi Menggunakan Dioda
ABSTRACT
The rapid development of technology and telecommunications has led to the need for telecommunications equipment that has high capabilities to support the performance of the device in processing various things such as voice, data, video, and also online games. The device is connected to the 5G network which has now entered Indonesia. The use of 5G networks is expected to increase communication capacity by utilizing a large amount of spectrum in millimeter waves having a very wide spectrum frequency, from 30 GHz to 300 GHz. This network is also expected to provide very large data rates compared to the previous generation. The frequency in 5G varies from lower than 6 GHz which is commonly referred to as microwave with limited bandwidth and is usually used for wide area coverage. Other frequency bands in the mm-wave range approved by WRC-15 are 24.25 – 27.5 GHz, 31.8 – 43.5 GHz, 45.5 – 50.2 GHz, 50.4 – 52.6 GHz, 66 – 76 GHz, and 81 – 86 GHz. In general, the frequencies used in wireless technology on 5G networks are 28 GHz, 38 GHz, and 73 GHz. Because the 5G network has a high frequency and has a dense beam waveform so that the transmitted wave is very vulnerable to weather, multiband technology is used to support different frequencies which can replace the use of two or more antennas into one antenna to produce better results. . Reconfiguration is used to adjust the antenna so that it can work at a certain frequency. In this thesis, the frequency reconfiguration of the microstrip antenna is carried out so that it can work at a frequency of 28 GHz and 38 GHz or 38 GHz only by switching the antenna radiation using a diode. Reconfiguration is done automatically by using Arduino as a switching controller. The results obtained are the antenna works at a frequency of 28 GHz and 38 GHz when given the OFF condition with a return loss value of -10,494 dB and -10.006 dB and in the ON condition produces an active frequency only at 38 GHz with a return loss value of -31.215 dB. This return loss value has met the requirements where the return loss value must be below -10 dB so that the frequency can work properly.
