Perancangan Mesin Pengupas Pinang Berdasarkan Metode Quality Function Deployment (Qfd) Dan Value Engineering
ABSTRACT
Areca nut is one type of plant that has many benefits for the community. In addition to being sold to collectors, areca nut can be processed into various types of food and drinks so that the benefits contained in areca nut can be felt by many people. One of the areas in Riau Province which is a producer of areca nut is Tembilahan Regency, especially in Keritang District, but in the process of stripping it still using the manual method so that the resulting production cannot be in large quantities. The purpose of this research is to design a betel nut peeler machine so that the stripping process can be optimized so that the production of areca nut peeling increases. The machine design is carried out based on a series of processes starting from collecting data and information about the machines desired by the community using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Value Engineering until finally a suitable and optimal design for the betel nut peeler is made. The benefit of this research is that the areca nut peeler machine is expected to be easy to operate, providing fast and large amounts of stripping results.
