The material for the kingdom in the archipelago is a high school history teacher
teaching material that requires the teacher's skills to provide an overview of historical
events to students. In this case, the teacher gets obstacles in the teaching and learning
process. The purpose of this study was to find out the obstacles of history education
teachers in teaching the material of the kingdoms of the archipelago at SMA N 3 Rumbai
and to find out the methods used by the history education teachers of SMA N 3 Rumbai
to the material of the kingdoms of the archipelago. The method in this research is
qualitative research. The data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and
conclusion drawing. The results and discussion of this study are the obstacles for history
education teachers at SMA N 3 Rumbai in teaching the material for the kingdoms in the
archipelago, namely the teacher being longer in terms of inputting grades because there
are some students who are late in collecting assignments due to several factors, such as
cellphones brought work by parents, internet quota is not available, and there is also a
reason that there is no signal. The method used by history education teachers in teaching
material about the kingdoms in the archipelago is an online or online learning method
because the pandemic has not yet ended in teaching and learning activities in 2021/2022.
Teachers are still making improvements in using technology for teaching material on the
kingdoms of the archipelago.
