Pengaruh Penambahan Abu Serbuk Kayu Pohon Merbau Sebagai Bahan Substitusi Sebagian Semen Terhadap Kuat Tekan Mortar
ABSTRACT
Merbau tree sawdust ash is a waste generated from the burning process of sawdust from furniture craftsmen. Sawdust ash has the potential to be developed as a partial substitute for cement in the manufacture of mortar. This study aims to determine the effect of adding wood ash to the compressive strength of mortar. Before making the specimens, the properties were tested on fine aggregate and sawdust ash in the laboratory and planned the composition of the mortar mixture according to SNI 03-6882-2002. The specimens were cube-shaped with a size of 50mm x 50mm x 50mm with 5 samples for each variation, and the mortar was tested after 28 days. The variation used in this study used a ratio of cement and sand 1PC: 4PS, 1PC: 5PS, 1PC: 6PS with a mixture of 0%, 15%, 25%, 35% and 45% sawdust ash. From the results of the mortar compressive strength test at 28 days, the mortar with the maximum compressive strength was in the mortar with a ratio of 1PC: 4PS on a 15% mixture with a compressive strength value is 10.48 MPa. For compressive strength values in the ratio 1PC: 5PS and 1PC: 6PS, the compressive strength increased with the sawdust ash mixture by 15% with compressive strength values is 8.8 MPa and 5.12 MPa. From the results of the compressive strength of the mortar, the mortar is classified as N or O type mortar.
