The 21st century is also known as the era of science and communication. To face the challenges of the 21st century, quality human resources are needed, namely through education. The 21st century competency in education in Indonesia is through the establishment of the 2013 curriculum. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has implemented blended learning so that interaction between students and teachers is limited. One of the efforts that can be done in improving the quality of education in accordance with the demands of the 21st century at this time is to provide teaching materials that are in accordance with the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the results of pre-research, digital-based teaching materials used by teachers in schools are generally only in the form of power points, and videos from YouTube. The use of digital-based teaching materials must be further enhanced at this time, so that students can understand learning material effectively and efficiently even though they do not interact directly with the teacher.
E-modules are digital-based teaching materials that students can access independently whenever and wherever. Based on the MGMP questionnaire analysis, only 20% of teachers have ever used e-modules as teaching materials. The development of e-modules can be combined with the 8e learning cycle model in order to direct students' activities in learning independently. Through this e-module based on the 8e learning cycle, students can build their own learning concepts through real experience so that it is expected to improve students' critical thinking skills. The development of e-modules based on the 8e learning cycle is carried out on the circulation system material because the material is abstract and very complex.
This study aims to determine the quality of the e-module circulation system based on learning cycle 8e and its effect on students' critical thinking skills. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Sentajo Raya, this study used the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The analysis phase consists of curriculum analysis, analysis of student needs, analysis of teaching materials and material analysis. The design stage consists of designing learning devices and designing e-modules, the development stage consisting of validity testing, teacher practicality tests, limited trials (one-on-one test and small-scale test). Meanwhile, in the implementation phase, a large-scale test was carried out in the form of implementing an e-module circulation system based on learning cycle 8e.
The results of the research on the validity test show that the learning materials 1, 2 and 3 in the e-module are very valid in 3 aspects, namely, the average in the didactic aspect is 94.65%, the average in the construction aspect is 94.17%, and the average is 91 technical aspects. ,28%. Then, the results of the practicality test of teachers and students as a whole show that the learning materials 1, 2 and 3 in the e-module are classified as very practical in 3 aspects,

namely the average in the ease of use aspect is 94%, the average is 95% in the learning time efficiency aspect, and the average on the aspect of benefits 94%.
The results of the research at the implementation stage showed that there was a significant effect of e-module circulation system based on learning cycle 8e on students' critical thinking skills. Based on the results of the development and implementation test of the learning cycle 8e based circulation system e-module, it was found that the quality of the learning cycle 8e based circulation system e-module was very good, and there was an influence of the learning cycle 8e based circulation system e-module to improve critical thinking skills of senior high school.
