Pengembangan Soal Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Pada Materi Pola Bilangan Kelas VIII SMP/Mts
This development research has main point of producing an assessment instrument in the form of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions in the form of descriptions on class VIII number pattern material that are valid, reliable, have a good level of difficulty and discrimination. The development model used in this research is development studies which consist of preliminary and formative evaluation stages. The formative evaluation stage adopts the stages by Tessmer which consist of expert review activities, one-to-one, small group, and field tests. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis which describes each processing of the collected data. The research instruments used were validation sheets, questionnaires or student response questionnaires and HOTS test questions. The research subjects for this development were 30 class VIII students of YPPI Perawang Private Middle School. Research data was obtained by validating HOTS questions with three validators and testing HOTS questions with research subjects at the field test stage. The results showed that the average score of the HOTS item validator for content, construction and language aspects was 90.79%, for the validity of the items obtained 15 valid questions with a reliability value of 0.95 in the very high category, while the level of difficulty obtained 12 questions with moderate difficulty level and 3 questions with difficult difficulty level, and discriminating power with 6 items categorized as sufficient and 6 items in good category.
