Education is the most important aspect in nation building, various efforts are made by the government in order to improve the education system, one of which is the professional development of teachers who are at the forefront of driving the advancement of the world of education. The teacher is a very important element in the world of education, because the teacher has a dual role in addition to being a teacher, the teacher also acts as an educator. As a teacher, the teacher has an obligation to provide learning materials to students, while as an educator the teacher is obliged to guide and foster the behavior of students so that they become capable, active, creative, and independent human beings. The development of science and technology in the world of education causes teachers to have knowledge and abilities in accordance with the times. This means that teachers must always add, hone and improve their abilities, so that the goals of national education can be achieved effectively and efficiently. Professional competence is the teacher's ability to master and understand learning materials broadly and deeply.
Teachers who have high achievement motivation will work enthusiastically and do their best to mobilize all abilities and skills to achieve optimal performance. Teacher achievement motivation is an element that arouses, directs, and encourages a teacher to carry out his duties and overcome all challenges and obstacles in achieving educational goals. Someone who has high achievement motivation tends to have confidence in himself, is responsible, and is always successful in achieving goals. . The professional competence of teachers is not only influenced by the teacher's achievement motivation but also by the work environment. The work environment is everything that is around the teacher at work that can affect the teacher in carrying out his work. A good work environment will support effective work implementation so as to create enthusiasm in the work of teachers in providing learning to students and interacting well. Penelitian ini mengangkat masalah penelitian tentang: 1) apakah terdapat pengaruh Motivasi Berprestasi terhadap Kompetensi Profesional Guru SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan Kabupaten Bengkalis? 2) apakah terdapat pengaruh Lingkungan Kerja terhadap Kompetensi Profesional Guru SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan Kabupaten Bengkalis? Dan 3) apakah terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara Motivasi Berprestasi dan Lingkungan Kerja secara bersama-sama terhadap Kompetensi Profesional Guru SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan Kabupaten Bengkalis? Kemudian penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis 1) pengaruh Motivasi Berprestasi terhadap Kompetensi Profesional Guru SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan Kabupaten Bengkalis; 2) pengaruh Lingkungan Kerja terhadap Kompetensi Profesional Guru SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan Kabupaten Bengkalis, dan 3) pengaruh signifikan antara Motivasi Berprestasi dan Lingkungan Kerja secara bersama-sama

terhadap Kompetensi Profesional Guru SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan Kabupaten Bengkalis.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah jenis penelitian ex post facto. Teknik dalam penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh antara dua variabel bebas (independent variable) yaitu Motivasi Berprestasi (X1), Lingkungan Kerja (X2), terhadap satu variabel terikat (dependent variable) yaitu Kompetensi Profesional Guru (Y). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru SMP Negeri yang dengan jumlah populasi guru sebanyak 257 orang dari di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan, Kabupaten Bengkalis, sampel penelitian sebesar 72 orang dengan jumlah populasi guru sebanyak 257 orang dari di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan, Kabupaten Bengkalis. Uji coba dilakukan pada kepala sekolah sebanyak 20 orang yang diambil Sekolah lain dengan karakteristik Sekolah yang sama. teknik pengumpulan data dalam bentuk instrumen berupa angket. Sementara itu, yang digunakan untuk mengolah dan analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis profil data penelitian dalam bentuk deskripsi, statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Data penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan program SPSS (statistical package for social science) Versi.25.
The results of the study obtained a significant influence between Achievement Motivation on Teacher Professional Competence, significant influence between Achievement Motivation on Teacher Professional Competence, and a significant influence between Achievement Motivation and Work Environment together on Teacher Professional Competence. The results of this study can be concluded that the better the teacher's achievement motivation, the better the teacher's professional competence, as well as the better the teacher's work environment, the better the teacher's professional competence, as well as together. Achievement Motivation and Work Environment so that the Professional Competence of Teachers will have a significant effect on the development of education in schools.
