Analisis Perbandingan Kinerja Sistem Radio Over Fiber Dan Free Space Optic Dengan Input Sinyal Rf Termodulasi Qam
ABSTRACT
Currently the use of macro cells with relatively long wireless channels cannot support high bitrates. To overcome these weaknesses multiplying radio access points can be done using transmission media such as Fiber Optic or Free Space Optic. In this research, we analyse the performance of optical communication systems with QAM modulated RF signal input on Fiber Optic and Free Space Optic channels. This research is simulated at a distance of 0.01-2 km using a bitrate of 10 Gbps with digital modulation types of 4-QAM, 16-QAM, 64-QAM and at a frequency of 60 GHz. The results of this research note that the implementation of the RoF system can reach long distances, however there are several critical points where the BER and Q-Factor results are below the minimum standard and at a certain distance the BER and Q-Factor values are above the minimum standard such as at a distance of 10 m, 90m, 100m, 190m, 200m, 290m, 300m, 390m, 400m, 480m, 490m, 500m, 580m, 590m, 600m, 680m, 690m, 770m , 780 m, 790 m, 1000 m, 1360 m, 1370 m, 1380 m, 1460 m, 1470 m, 1480 m, 1560 m, 1570 m, 1580 m, 1660 m, 1670 m, 1760 m, 1770 m, 1860 m, 1870 m, 1950 m, 1960 m and 1970 m. Meanwhile, the FSO system does not have critical point, but does not support long distance use.
