Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII-1 SMPN 1 Peranap Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu

This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase mathematics outcomes with applied the learning model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research were 32 students of class VIII-1 SMPN 1 Peranap Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu in academic years 2022/2023. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students Mathematics tests. The observation sheets sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive, while the students Mathematics tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. Quantitative descriptive analysis showed that students' mathematics learning outcomes increased from basic grades to daily tests I, daily tests I to daily tests II. The percentage of students who achieved the KKM increased from the basic score with a percentage of 18,75% (6 students) to 62,5% (20 students) on the first daily test and 84,375% (27 students) on the second daily test. The results of this study indicate that the application of the PBL model can improve the learning process and mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII-1 students of SMPN 1 Peranap Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu Even Semester for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The implication is that the application of the PBL model has a positive impact on the implementation of the learning process, namely students become more active in learning activities so that learning is not teacher-centered.
