ABSTRACT
The lighting of the Soeman H.S library is a library that relies on a natural lighting system as its lighting, the lighting in the Soeman H.S library is also assisted with artificial lighting to support the lighting needs of the Soeman H.S library. The library has been operating for about 13 years, so artificial lighting is no longer effective if maintenance is not carried out to meet lighting standards in the library. The research steps will be carried out in stages, namely, collecting primary data, namely the level of natural and artificial lighting by taking direct measurements in the field using a luxmeter. To find out how effective artificial lighting is, artificial lighting calculations are carried out, work steps for calculating artificial lighting based on SNI 2011 concerning "Procedures for Designing Artificial Lighting in Buildings". Next (3) Comparing the results of measurements and calculations with lighting standards for library buildings. So that we get the results of a comparison of whether the lighting in the library building now meets the lux standard of the library building. (5) by relying on natural lighting, it can reduce the use of artificial lighting so that the total electricity energy is saved for each reading room. The results of the study the average natural lighting measurement for reading room 1 was 1212.67 lux, reading room 2 was 1121.67 lux, reading room 3 was 1019.33 lux, the average artificial lighting measurement results for reading room 1 was 100, 71 lux, reading room 2 of 107.40 lux, reading room 3 of 102.84, from the results of measurements and calculations of the combined natural and artificial lighting already meets the lighting standard, which is above 300 Lux. From the results of the study, it was also found that the total electrical energy that was saved from the use of natural lighting for reading rooms 1,2 and 3 was Rp. 2,598,630-,.
