Perilaku Balok Beton Bertulang Yang Diperkuat Dengan Menggunakan Metode Deep Embedment
ABSTRACT
Bridges are infrastructure buildings that are affected by technological developments. The shear capacity of reinforced concrete beam sometimes cannot meet the existing requirements. This can be caused by increased loads, inadequate shear provisions in the initial design and material damage due to natural factors. Reinforcement methods by means of externally bonded (EB) and near-surface mounted (NSM) are methods that have been carried out to overcome the decrease in shear strength in beam structures. Shear reinforcement using the EB and NSM methods in practice only relies on epoxy bonding and concrete covers, this causes the structure to be susceptible to failure. The deep embedment strengthening method (DE) can be used as a suggestion as shear reinforcement in reinforced concrete beams to overcome the previous problem. Reinforcement with the DE method is a shear reinforcement that is reinforced at the core of reinforced concrete beams. The behavior of reinforced concrete beams resulting from experimental testing was compared with the behavior of reinforced concrete beams resulting from finite element modelling using ABAQUS. This research was carried out by embedding 20 bars vertically with a distance of 100 mm along the shear span. The experimental testing with the DE Method, the maximum load and displacement results are 29,10 kN and 17,00 mm. Meanwhile, the finite element modelling, the maximum load and displacement results are 28,12 kN and 14,10 mm. The specimen reinforced by the DE method experienced an increase in maximum load and displacement of 7,78% and 28,40% of the control specimen which have maximum loads and displacements of 27,00 kN and 13,24 mm. The failure model that occurs from experimental testing and finite element modelling on the specimen experiencing flexural failure.
