Intensitas Cahaya Optimum Untuk Pertumbuhan Semai Meranti Merah (Shorea Leprosula) Pada Media Tumbuh Gambut
ABSTRACT
Shorea leprosula belongs to a type of plant whose existence is endangered. The endangerment of the existence of this plant is caused by the existence of forest deforestation and forest degradation. Thus, the Shorea leprosula plant requires conservation efforts so that this type of plant remains sustainable. Shorea leprosula has many benefits. So that good treatment is needed when planting. Oneof the treatments that can be given is by providing the right intensity of sunlight tothe Shorea leprosula plant. This study aims to determine the optimum light intensity for the growth of Shorea leprosula plants in peat growing media. The data obtained were than analyzed using fingerprints variance with SPSS software and further tested using the DNMRT test on 5% level. The results showed that the difference in light giving to Shorea leprosula seedlings had a significant effect on seedling growth. P4 with a level of offering 75% showed the best results with a increase height 3,34 cm, increase in diameter 1,03 mm, plant dry weight 1,22 g, top root ratio 2,19, increase in the number of leaves 4,16.
