Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Inkuiri Terbimbing Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Kognitif Pada Materi Usaha Dan Pesawat Sederhana Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Tambang
In science learning requires students' success in mastering the concept.
Science or science is related to how to systematically find out about nature, so that
science is not only mastering a collection of knowledge in the form of facts,
concepts or principles but also a process of inquiry (Prihatni et al, 2016; 5).
Science learning emphasizes direct experience in developing competence.
Students are able to understand the natural surroundings through the process of
"finding out" and "making". This can help students gain a deeper understanding.
To improve students' cognitive learning outcomes, innovation is needed in
learning, namely by using a learning model that can invite students to seek,
discover and build their own knowledge, namely by applying learning using
guided inquiry-based learning models.
The purpose of this study was to determine students' cognitive learning
outcomes and to determine differences in students' cognitive learning outcomes
with the application of guided inquiry-based learning models on Business
Materials and Simple Machines in Grade VIII Middle School at SMP Negeri 7
Tambang. The benefits of this research are expected to be a learning innovation to
improve students' cognitive learning outcomes by teachers.
This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Tambang, Kampar
Regency. As for the implementation time, namely July-December 2022. This type
of research is experimental (Experimental Research). The population in this study
were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Tambang. The sample in this study
were Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 7 Tambang in the odd semester of the
2022/2023 school year, namely Class VIIIA and Class VIIIB. The instrument
used in the study was in the form of questions used in the posttest which were
carried out after being given treatment with 20 multiple choice questions. The
indicators used are the cognitive domain of taxonomy bloom (C1-C5). The data
analysis technique used is descriptive analysis, N-Gain test and Differential
Analysis Test.
The results showed that the cognitive learning outcomes of the
experimental class students were in the high category (83%) and the control class
was in the moderate category (60%). Based on the results of hypothesis testing
using independent t-tests, it is known that the inquiry learning model has a
significant influence on students' cognitive learning outcomes in the material for
effort and simple machines in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 7 Tambang.
Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the
guided inquiry model can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes. For this
reason, the authors recommend that physics teachers make improvements and
improvements in learning by using a variety of learning models, one of which is
the guided inquiry model, so that the material can be delivered optimally and
students don't feel bored.
