Status Kesuburan Perairan Berdasarkan Klorofil-A Di Wilayah Pesisir Kecamatan Dumai Barat Provinsi Riau
Abstract
The Coastal Area of West Dumai District is part of the East Coastal area of Sumatra Island which is influenced by anthropogenic activities. These activities can affect water quality. This study aims to determine the concentration of chlorophyll-a as the status of aquatic trophic. This research was conducted in March-April 2022 in the Coastal area of West Dumai District, Riau Province. The method used in this study is a survey method. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling method at 4 stations. Sampling was carried out 3 times with a sampling interval of 1 week. The results showed that the average measurement of chlorophyll-a concentration during the study was 2.41 μg/L while the measurement of water quality during the study was temperature 29.3-32ºC, current velocity 0.98-1 m/s, brightness 54.8-69.6 cm, salinity 19.6-28.6 ppt, pH
6.6-7.8, DO 5.49-8.31 mg/L, CO2 free 7.99-17.31 mg/L, nitrate (NO3-) 0.65-0.84
mg/L, and phosphate (PO43-) 0.76-1.00 mg/L. Based on the results of the measurement of the concentration of chlorophyll-a, it shows that the trophic status of the waters belongs to mesotrophic waters (medium trophic) and aquatic trophic measurements show that the waters support marine biota.
