Penerapan Model Conceptual Understanding Procedures Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Siswa Dalam Materi Suhu Dan Kalor Kelas VII SMP N 6 Siak Hulu
the use of a learning model consisting of an arrangement of learning activities aimed at helping students to build their understanding of concepts. One model that can be done is Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs). The type of research that will be used in this study is Quasi Experimental with the Posttest Only Control Group Design research design, namely using one experimental class and one control class. The sampling technique used by researchers is simple random sampling. The sample used is class VII.1 with a total of 30 students as the experimental class and class VII.4 with a total of 30 students as the control class. The results of the research from the results of descriptive analysis and inferential analysis showed that there were differences in students' understanding of concepts in the experimental class and the control class, from the average score of the posttest results showing that the experimental class was higher than the control class. Students' understanding of the concept of temperature and heat in the experimental and control classes showed that the experimental class using the CUPs learning model was better than the control class which only used the conventional model in increasing conceptual understanding.
