ANALYSIS OF STUNTING EXPERIENCE IDENTIFIED FROM HEALTH ACTIVITIES OF POSYANDU IN PEKANBARU CITY

Toddler is an important period in a child’s growth. Inadequate nutrient intake during this period can cause stunting. In ASEAN, Indonesia ranked 4th in the incidence of stunting. Health services at the Integrated Healthcare is and indirect factors that affect stunting. This study is an observational to analyze the case of stunting identified from health service activities at Integrated Healthcare Center (Posyandu) in Pekanbaru City. The research design that used for this study was analytic observational method with a cross-sectional study design. Subject were 198 toddlers who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that 83 (41.9%) under-fives suffer from stunting. Data analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between growth monitoring (p=0.520 OR=1.377); health care (p=0.163 OR=1.636); immunization (p=0,361 OR=1,393) and vitamin A intake (p=0,235 OR=1,522) with stunting experience. This study concludes that there is no significant relationship between research subjects and the case of stunting, but research subjects who do not receive good health care have the highest risk of experiencing stunting.
