Pengaruh Lingkungan Sosial Terhadap Karakter Peduli Sosial Siswa Kelas XI SMK PGRI Pekanbaru

The background of this research is that there is a decline in social awareness that is happening around us today, both by teenagers and adults. The formulation of the problem in this study is "Is there an Influence of the Social Environment on the Social Care Character of Class XI Students of SMK PGRI Pekanbaru". The purpose of this research is to find out how the influence of the social environment has on the socially caring character of class XI students at SMK PGRI Pekanbaru. The benefits to be gained in this research are increasing insight into the influence of the social environment on the character of social care and being a material consideration for all involved and future researchers who care about education not only for learning outcomes but also for children's character.
The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method, in which the data collection process uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire or questionnaire containing 24 statements with 4 answer choices including Always, Often, Sometimes, and Never. As stated in the title that this research is aimed at class XI students of SMK PGRI Pekanbaru, the population in this study is all class XI SMK PGRI Pekanbaru, totaling 182 students who fit into 9 classes. In taking the sample, the researcher uses the theory of Suharshimi Arikunto (2010: 112) where because the study population is more than 100 people, around 10-15% or 20-25% can be taken and the researcher takes 25%, the sample in this study is 45 people, where in choosing The subjects to be sampled by the researcher used the Probability Sampling technique, which means that there are equal opportunities for each element of the population where 5 people are taken from each class as a sample.
Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the social environment influences the social caring character of class XI students at SMK PGRI Pekanbaru as evidenced by the following calculations: Fcount = 32.906 > Ftable = 4.07 which is at a significant level of 5%, which means that Ha is accepted or there is an influence between the social environment on the social caring character of class XI students at SMK PGRI

The simple linear regression equation obtained is: Y = 16.507 + 0.492X, which means that if the social environment or variable X increases by 1, then the social care character or variable Y increases by 0.492. And based on the calculation of the coefficient of determination, it was found that there was 43.4% of the influence of the social environment on the social caring character of class XI students at SMK PGRI Pekanbaru.
