Coronavirus Disease 2019 is a new type of disease that emerged in 2019. This coronavirus is caused by the SARS CoV-2 virus. . On December 31, 2019, a case of pneumonia was reported in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province, China of unknown etiology. However, over time, the etiology of COVID-19 was known, namely SARS CoV2. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between elderly age and gender with Covid-19 cases with severity in the Arifin Achmad Hospital for the period March 2020-June 2020. This type of research was a cross-sectional analytic study conducted with a retrospective approach using medical record data. 322 medical records. This study found that the most confirmed patients with Covid-19 were female, as many as 174 patients (56%). Meanwhile, from the age group of confirmed Covid-19 patients, the most were patients with an age range of 40 - 59 years as many as 163 people (50.6%). The highest degree of severity experienced was moderate with a total of 220 people (68.3%). The length of stay in this study was mostly in patients with 7 days of treatment with a total of 175 people (54.3%). Based on comorbid diseases, in this study most of the patients had no comorbidities with a total of 150 people (46.6%). The highest outcome in this study was recovery with a total of 194 people (60.2%). Based on the results of the univariate analysis, it was found that there was no real relationship between age and gender for Covid-19 cases in Covid-19 patients at the Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province for the period March 2020 - June 2020.
