Struktur Komunitas Meiofauna Di Kawasan Mangrove Kecamatan Dumai Barat
Abstract In the West Dumai District there were mangrove ecosystems that shown different condition. In the mangrove area around the Marine Station of the Riau University was in good condition and it was frequently inundated by water from the Masjid River. While the mangrove in the Bandar Bakau Tourism area was negatively affected by anthropogenic activities conducted in that area. To understand the community structure in those areas, a study was conducted on October 2021- February 2022. There were 2 stations, around the marine Station area (St 1) and in the Bandar Bakau area (St 2). In each station, there were 3 sub stations. Meiofauna from each sub-station was collected from the surface layer (0-15 cm depth) and the base layer (16-30 cm depth). Samplings were conducted 3 times, once/ month. The samples were sieved using a set of test sieve (1 mm and 0.06 mm mesh size), fixed with 5% formalin and were identified. Results shown that in the surface layer, the abundance and types of meiofauna was more than those of the base layer, there were 3,566.88 and 3,934.89 organism/m3; 21 and 18 types respectively. In the St2, the abundance of meiofauna was higher than that of the St1(6,737.44 organism/m3), however the types of that organisms in the St2 was lower (18 and 17). The Dominance Index of meiofauna in the St2 (0.12) was higher than that of the St1 (0.07), while the Diversity and the Uniformity Index in the St1 (H′ 4.02 E 0.94) was higher than that of the St2 (H′) 3.6 E 0.87. The dominan species in the St2 was Calanoida sp and Oncholaimidae sp . Keywords : Aboundance of Meiofauna, Calanoida sp., Oncholaimidae sp., Sediment Layers.
