This thesis discusses the Influence of Cultural Characteristics on the
Success of Online Learning in the New Normal Era at SMAN 6 Pekanbaru.
Online learning is a fairly effective solution to overcome problems that occur
during the Covid-19 pandemic so that teaching and learning activities continue as
usual. Online learning has come a long way with a variety of technologies and
devices to access learning resources such as leptop, computers, smart phones and
tablets. Technology greatly influences education and learning methods. The
determining factors for the success of online learning need to be studied more
deeply, especially those related to cultural characteristics. In mastering online
learning, paying attention to learning culture is a factor that affects the success of
online learning.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of cultural
characteristics on the success of online learning in the new normal era at SMAN 6
Pekanbaru.
This type of research uses quantitative approach methods. The data analysis
techniques used in this study are descriptive analysis and analysis using the SEM
(Structural Equation Modeling) equation model using smartPLS 4.0 software.
Partial Least Square (PLS). The data collection instrument used in this study was
a questionnaire technique. The results showed that changes in the value of online
learning success were influenced by cultural characteristics. The influence of
cultural characteristics on online learning was 0.593 with a calculated value of
17,790. The value is greater than t table which is 1.98698. Because t count 17.790
> t table 1.98698, it can be concluded that cultural characteristics affect the
success of online learning .
