Adsorpsi Isotermal Volumetrik Menggunakan Bio-Metal Organic Frameworks Cobalt-Glutamate Sebagai Penyimpanan Gas Metana

ABSTRACT
Global warming caused by greenhouse gases is getting longer and more worrying. Switching from fossil fuels to natural gas is a promising solution, by applying the ANG (Adsorbed Natural Gas) mechanism. An important factor for the success of this mechanism is the selection of the adsorbent used. MOF (Metal Organic Frameworks) has good potential in storing methane gas, but further research is needed to determine the characteristics of its adsorption capacity. In this study, Bio-MOF Co-Glu was chosen as the adsorbent for methane gas. Tests were carried out using the isothermal volumetric adsorption method by observing in 4 temperature variations (20oC, 27 oC, 35 oC, and 50 oC) at a pressure range of 100-1500 kPa. From the test results, the maximum absorption was obtained respectively 0.1264 kg/kg at 20 oC, 0.1154 kg/kg at 27 oC, 0.0942 kg/kg at 35 oC, and 0.0829 kg/kg at 50 oC at pressure ± 1500 kPa at each temperature. In this study, calculations were also carried out using several isotherm adsorption models, namely Langmuir, Freundlich, Sips (Langmuir & Freundlich) and Toth. Freundlich modeling is the most suitable model for the adsorption process that occurs because it has the lowest deviation rate. The deviation is 0.151% at 20 oC, 0.498% at 27 oC, 0.412% at 35 oC and 0.595% at 50 oC. The parameters obtained from the Freundlich modeling were then used to evaluate isosteric adsorption and heat of adsorption using the indirect method using the Clausius-Clapeyron equation.
