DESCRIPTION OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR OF HEMOPHILIA PATIENTS AT ARIFIN ACHMAD HOSPITAL BASED ON THE COURSE OF THE DISEASE

Hemophilia is a congenital disease due to blood clots caused by mutations on the X chromosome. This disease is characterized by the functional activity of factor VIII or IX decreasing until it is absent. Hemophilia type A is a heterogeneous disease in which applicable factor VIII is present in the blood, and the amount of factor VIII decresing due to reduced production. The purpose of this study to provide an overview of the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of hemophilia patients at RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province regarding the course of their illness. This type of research is descriptive. The data used from medical records and questionnaires. The research results were 26 hemophilia patients aged 13-18 years at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. Type of hemophilia A most often effects patients as many as 22 people (84.61%) with the male sex. In this study, the results of knowledge of hemophilia were categorized as sufficient knowledge in 23 people (88.46%). The patient's attitude towards the course of the disease was classified as sufficient for 22 people (84.61%). The results of the patient's behavior were ordered as enough for 19 people (73.07%).
