DESCRIPTION OF KNOWLEDGE AND ACTION ON COVID-19 HEALTH PROTOCOL IN FACE-TO-FACE LEARNING PERIOD IN STUDENTS OF SMPN 20 MEDANG KAMPAI DUMAI

Background: Since 2022, the government has adopted a policy to conduct face-to- face learning. In the implementation of face-to-face learning, the government establishes a health protocol in schools as a government effort to control COVID-
19. Face-to-face learning needs to be done to maintain the quality of education in Indonesia.
Objectives: This study aims to determine the description of knowledge and actions regarding health protocols in the current COVID-19 era as well as cases of COVID-19 in students of SMPN 20 Medang Kampai Dumai.
Methods: The design in this study used a cross sectional design by selecting a research sample of 124 students through purposive sampling technique. Research questionnaires were given to respondents containing questions about knowledge and actions as well as a history of being infected with COVID-19.
Results: The results of this study showed that the level of knowledge of SMPN 20 Medang Kapai Dumai students towards the COVID-19 health protocol was 121 students (97.6%) had a good level of knowledge and the level of action of students of SMPN 20 Medang Kapai Dumai on the COVID-19 health protocol was 84 respondents. (67.7%) have a good action. The number of students of SMPN 20 Medang Kampai Dumai who had been infected with COVID-19 was 1 student (0.8%)
