Pengembangan Alat Eksperimen Tumbukan Dengan Menggunakan Sensor Optik Dan Sensor Getaran Untuk Menentukan Koefisien Restitusi Dan Momentum
The number of students who do not understand collision and momentum
learning material because the learning system is still the lecture method, resulting
in a lack of student interest and learning interest. Based on this, this study
designed a device that can investigate the value of gravitational acceleration (g),
coefficient of restitution (e), potential energy (EP), kinetic energy (EK), and
momentum (P). A free fall experimental device was made using Polyvinyl
Chloride (PVC) pipe material with a variety of reflecting plane materials
(aluminum, ceramic, and wood) and a variety of ball masses (42.10 gr, 59.46 gr,
69.62 gr, and 80.32 gr) with a diameter of 6 cm. The experimental material is
equipped with an automatic actuator that is activated non-contact by the hand
and two infrared sensors and one vibration sensor that will validate the ball drop
time.
The experimental results show that the value of gravitational acceleration
obtained has a value close to the value of the earth's gravity which is 9.8150 m/s2
with an error value of 0.0816%. The highest e value is obtained in the reflecting
plane of aluminum 0.757, ceramic 0.723, and wood 0.6846. The experimental
results also show that the ball at a height (h) of 1.25 m has an EP value of
516.0934 Joules and EK of 0 Joules because the ball is not given speed when
dropped and after the ball falls to the bottom of the plane with h zero meters, the
EP value becomes 0 Joules and EK becomes 516.0934 Joules. The value of
momentum experienced by the ball has decreased, before the reflection is
208.4588 kgm/s, 294.4171 kgm/s, 344.7245 kgm/s, and 397.7057 kg m/s
respectively and after experiencing the reflection is 157.8269 kgm/s, 211.1905
kgm/s, 217.2460 kgm/s, and 191.3423 kgm/s. The results of apparatus validation
obtained a kappa value (κ) = 0.9785 and a high practicality value of 92.79%.
Based on the results of the experiments that have been carried out, this
prototype can be used as a learning media with experimental methods. Valid and
practical experimental apparatus will make it easier for students to understand
the concept of free fall motion and other physics parameters so that it will foster
student interest in learning.
