Potensi Pengembangan Produk Hasil Hutan Bukan Kayu Di Hutan Desa Sapat Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir
ABSTRACT
The existence of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) is considered important to continue to be developed considering the declining productivity of timber from natural forests. NTFPs can continue to be utilized if a concept is applied that can maintain forest sustainability, namely through the Social Forestry (SF) program. Village Forest (VF) is one example of a social forestry program. VF in Sapat Village received the widest designation among the other three villages and has potential types of NTFPs. This study aims to determine the potential and strategies used in the development of NTFP products. Data collection uses observation, interview and literature study methods. Selection of informants was carried out by snowball sampling method. Data analysis in this study includes the potential for NTFP product development using SWOT analysis. The results showed that the potential for NTFP product development in Sapat VF is very potential to be developed with a variety of NTFP such as mangrove crabs, lokan, shrimp, nipah shoots, mangrove fruit, nyirih fruit and jeruju leaves. In addition, a positive attitude is shown by the community in protecting Sapat VF by joining the Supervisory Community Group (SCG). The strategy used is an aggressive strategy where this strategy is a very favorable situation, because it has opportunities and strengths so that it can take advantage of existing opportunities.
