Prarancangan Pabrik Urea Formaldehid Proses D.B Western Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Fixed Bed Multitube (R-101)
ABSRACT
Urea formaldehyde is a universal material that is widely used in various industries such as the textile industry, paper industry, shipbuilding industry, plywood and furniture industry as well as to improve the brittleness and water resistance properties. In the pre-designed urea formaldehyde plant, there are 2 stages of the process, namely the process of making formaldehyde from methanol and oxygen, then the process of making urea formaldehyde. Formaldehyde can be produced from the reaction between methanol and oxygen by the D.B. Western which uses an iron molybdenum oxide catalyst at an operating temperature of 250ºC, an operating pressure of 1.4 atm and a conversion of 95.16%. This urea formaldehyde plant is planned to be built in Kalidoni District, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province with a production capacity of 20,000 tons/year and will be built in 2025. The main tool design is a formaldehyde reactor (R-101) which functions to react methanol and oxygen by using an iron molybdenum oxide catalyst to produce formaldehyde which is then reacted with urea to produce urea formaldehyde in R-102. The form of company planned for the urea formaldehyde plant is a Limited Liability Company (PT) which has a legal entity and is registered in the notary deed of business establishment with an authorized capital which is entirely divided into shares and fulfills the requirements stipulated in the law. Based on the results of economic analysis, this urea formaldehyde plant is feasible to build with a BEP value of 34%, ROI of 21.43%, IRR of 22.7161% and PBP of 3.3 years.
