Identifikasi Persebaran Beruang Madu (Helarctos Malayanus) Di Cagar Alam Bukit Bungkuk Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
One of the sun bear habitats is in the Bukit Bungkuk Nature Reserve Forest, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The reduction in the area of forest area can lead to the possibility of community conflict with forest-dwelling animals. This study aims to determine the distribution of sun bears and the characteristics of the vegetation habitat in the Bukit Bungkuk Nature Reserve. The research was conducted in July 2022 at the Bukit Bungkuk Nature Reserve research location. The method used in this research is line transect, the distance between each transect line is 50 m with a length of 1 km each. Data collection on the presence of sun bears can be obtained through encounters in the form of footprints, scratches, digs, and excrement (feces) honey Bear. The results of the recapitulation of the number of identified sun bears for each line were 74 species. Sun bear tracks were found on several types of trees such as Litsea angulata with a total of 14 tracks, 9 tracks of Lithocarpus lucidus Roxb, 13 tracks of Xylopia fusca, 27 tracks of Syzygium palembanicum, and 11 tracks of Eugenia cymosa.
