Jenis Dan Kelimpahan Plankton Pada Budidaya Ikan Patin (Pangasionodon Hypopthalmus) Dengan Manipulasi Fotoperiod Dan Sisitem Akuaponik
ABSTRACT
Rearing Pangasionodon hypopthalmus in the dark media improved the growth of the fish. However, the lack of sunlight may hamper the growth of plankton and thus negatively affects the water quality as there was no organism that absorb organic materials in the water. To understand the type and abundance of plankton that were present in the media with manipulated photoperiod and completed with aquaponics system has been conducted on September-October 2021. There was a factorial design with 2 factors (photoperiod and an aquaponic system using Ipomoea aquatica) and 3 replications. The treatments applied was treatment with aquaponics (NatK and 24GK) and treatment without aquaponics (NatF and 24GF). The fishes were reared in 110L plastic tank, filled with 100L water, and completed with aerator and a circulation pump. During the research the fish was feed on commercial pellets. Plankton and water quality samplings were conducted a once/week, four times. Results shown that in general, the types and abundance of plankton in the media with manipulated photoperiod were lower than those of the plankton in the natural photoperiod media (in the NatK was 5,960 cells/L, NatF 7,872 cells/L, 24GK 3,556 cells/L and 24GF 3,272 cells /L), while the presence of aquaponics do not affects the type and abundance of plankton. Data on water quality parameters, however, is affected by the combination of the photoperiod and the aquaponic system. Results of ANOVA test shown that the abundance of plankton was significantly different between groups, treatments and photoperiod. This proves that the abundance of plankton in the rearing tanks is strongly influenced by sunlight, so that in the natural containers the abundance is found to be higher than in the dark treatment containers.
