Strategi Pengelolaan Pasar Modern Berbasis Lingkungan Di Pasir Pengaraian
Market development in Indonesia has been very significant in recent years. Indonesia is a strategically important market with the largest economy in Asia, Indonesia's market development also ranks as the third fastest growing economy competing with all countries in Asia. With the growing economic opportunities many markets are developing, both modern and traditional markets. Pasar Modern Pasir Pengaraian is a traditional market, said to be modern because one of the market's visions is the realization of a traditional market with modern nuances that is clean, orderly, beautiful, safe, comfortable, and a superior facility in the economic movement of the Pasir Pengaraian community. The existence of the modern market at this time can be said to be dirty, shabby, and disorganized, this is different from the vision of the Modern Market, which is to make the Modern Market clean, healthy, safe and comfortable. Trash appears scattered on the floor and in the Traditional Market environment, causing an unpleasant odor, as well as an unsightly view. and not disposed of in the temporary landfill that has been provided. Drainage around the market is blocked by garbage. The garbage that covers the drainage comes from vegetable, fish, and chicken sellers. In the stall area, waste from onion peel, vegetables and dried fish can be found. these remnants can be found in almost every street stall. Parking spaces for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled cars are not well-kept. Based on the description, the author wants to research and find out of the strategy for managing the conditions of the Pasar Modern Pasir Pengaraian to improve the quality of the Pasar Modern, both in environmental, social and economic terms.
This research aims to (1) Analyzed the condition of the Pasar Modern Pasir Pengaraian, (2) Identifycation Potential and Issues in Pasar Modern Management, (3) Formulated a management strategy for the Pasar Modern Pasir Pengaraian. This research is useful for (1) can be useful as a contribution of thought in order to develop theories related to market management, (2) The results of this research will assist in formulating strategies for managing market environmental conditions in the Pasir Pengaraian Modern market., (3) It is intended that it would be valuable and effectively used as a knowledge and reference source or as additional research material.
To answering the objectives of this study, the first and second objectives were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The purpose of using this analysis is to make a description, description or painting systematically, factually and accurately about the facts based on the tendency of existing information (Nazir, 2003). The SWOT analysis used in this research is aimed at developing a management strategy for the Pasar Modern Pasir Pengaraian. SWOT analysis is useful for obtaining opportunities that can generate profits for the Modern Market. By understanding the strengths and opportunities that exist, it is hoped that it can minimize or eliminate the weaknesses and threats faced.

The results of this study indicate that Pasar Modern Pasir Pengaraian has 3 conditions, namely ecological conditions, social conditions and economic conditions. The potential in the Modern Market is to explore the Pasar Modern which can be developed as a cultural tourism object. the issue of problems for the continuity of traditional markets is that traditional markets have not been able to be freed from the negative image as a place that is shabby, irregular, muddy, dirty, high crime, uncomfortable, and minimal facilities. Traditional markets are still filled with informal sellers who are unregulated and unrully. Markets with modern management styles are becoming a more popular choice for orderly and comfortable shopping. The Pasar Modern Pasir Pengaraian strategy is in quadrant I because the total IFAS and EFAS values are positive, meaning that it can use the Growth strategy (Growght).
