Strategi Pengelolaan Sampah Rumah Tangga Di Kecamatan Senapelan Kota Pekanbaru
Household waste which is often the most waste that is produced every
day, remains from human daily activities in solid form at the household scale.
The lack of public attention to environmental cleanliness, especially waste
management, causes accumulation and even waste management that is not
optimal. To achieve success in development, it is necessary to pay attention,
one of which is community involvement in waste management. The conditions
in the field clearly show that the Senapelan Subdistrict itself carries out waste
disposal independently, garbage has accumulated at several points causing an
unpleasant odor, and even illegal TPS have appeared at several points. The
lack of public attention to environmental cleanliness, especially household
waste management, which is actually the largest source of waste in residential
areas, causes accumulation. This condition also results in household waste
management that is not optimal.
The aims of the study were (1) to analyze household waste management
in Senapelan district, (2) to formulate strategies for household waste
management in Senapelan district. This research is useful for academics,
namely the results of this research are expected to add to knowledge and
collection of data and references that can be used as library material for further
researchers. For researchers and readers themselves, that is to increase
knowledge and insight about household waste management strategies in

of the SWOT analysis which shows the advantages in terms of strengths and
opportunities that exist in Senapelan District are (1) Optimizing Special
Allocation Fund funding for waste management infrastructure and waste
sanitation. Funding sources for the General Allocation Fund or DAK which are
sourced from the APBN for certain regions aim to fund special activities which
are regional affairs and in accordance with national priorities. The
completeness of facilities and infrastructure is the main support for creating an
viii
environment that is clean from waste. (2) Improving human resources that
support waste management, the importance of public awareness to carry out
waste management, one of which is participating in mutual cooperation
activities such as those carried out by the people of Senapelan District to
maintain a clean environment together.
In addition, the strategy obtained by (3) Improving the waste recycling
process so that there is less waste, utilizing household waste so it does not
pollute the environment using the 4R principle that the community can do to
participate in waste management. The 4R program is an alternative in
overcoming urban waste problems, including household waste management.
(4) Improving communication media or outreach to the public on the
importance of household waste management. When socialization can be done
anywhere through social media in the form of Instagram, Website, Twitter,
Facebook, socialization can be in the form of introductions or socialization
covering an understanding of waste, rules that enforce waste, and procedures
