ABSTRACT
Lake of Tanjung Kudu belongs to the type of oxbow lake which is located in Tanjung Kudu Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The environmental conditions of Tanjung Kudu Lake are heavily influenced by community activities such as plantation activities, animal husbandry, and fishing activities (fishing). In Tanjung Kudu Lake, various macrophytes grow, due to the increase in nutrients in the waters. This study aims to determine the type and density of aquatic plants found in Tanjung Kudu Lake, Tanjung Kudu Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The research method used is a survey method. The research procedure was carried out by taking samples 4 times at 3 stations, each station consisting of 3 squared plots. Samples were taken 1 time in 1 week within one month. Then identified based on Steenis (1981) and calculated the density. The results showed that the types of aquatic plants found included 6 classes, 7 families, and 7 types of aquatic plants which were divided into 2 types of habitat, namely floating and emergent. The types of aquatic plants are Eichhornia crassipes, Pomea aquatica, Salvinia natans, Pristia stratiotes, Lycopodium clavatum, Hemianthus micranthemoides and Paspalum commersonii. Then the results of the study showed that the highest average density was at station III, namely 20.35 ind./m2. While the lowest average density is at station II, namely 17.87 ind./m2. The high density of aquatic plants at station III is caused by high nutrients because the location of station III is directly adjacent to the residents' oil palm plantation activities.
