Prarancangan Pabrik Bisfenol-A Dari Fenol Dan Aseton Dengan Proses Sabic Dengan Desain Alat Utama Menara Distilasi Bisfenol-A (T-101)
ABSTRACT
Bisphenol-A is an organic component with two phenol functional groups. Bisphenol-A is used to manufacture polycarbonate plastics and resins. This compound is a colorless crystal which in high purity is suitable for producing polycarbonate resins. There are several technologies for producing bisphenol-A that have been developed. Bisphenol-A can be produced by reacting the compounds allene, methylacethylene, 2-isopropenylphenol, 4-isopropenylphenol and isopropenyl acetate with phenol. However, a more effective bisphenol-A production process is by means of the phenol condensation reaction with acetone. The purification process is carried out by the distillation method. The distillation process is carried out in a multistage distillation tower unit. A bisphenol-A distillation column is used to separate the main product bisphenol-A from phenol and water. Bisphenol-A with a purity of up to 99.5% will come out as a product at the bottom of the distillation column. Phenol and water will come out as products on the distillation tower. The bisphenol-A factory is designed to be built in the Cilegon Industrial Estate Area (KIEC), Banten. The planned legal form of the company is in the form of a Limited Liability Company (PT). Based on the results of the economic analysis, it is found that the total production costs to be incurred are IDR 3,447,755,208,672 with the selling price of bisphenol-A as a product amounting to IDR 27,287/kg. The percentage of ROI (Return of Investment) after tax is 43.6%. The length of Pay Out Time (POT) after tax takes 2.29 years and the BEP (Break Even Point) is 34%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the establishment of a bisphenol-A plant with a capacity of 150,000 tons/year at KIEC, Banten Province is feasible. The relatively fast payback of capital, which is only 2.29 years, makes production profits more quickly received.
