ABSTRACT
Sago is a plant originating from southeast Asia, sago is commonly found in swamps of lowland and tropical freshwater forests. The area of land for sago plants in Indonesia is 1.12 million ha or 50% of the total land area for sago plants in the world. Sago plants are used by most people in eastern Indonesia, such as Papua, as staple food. In addition, sago palms have social, economic and ecological benefits for the community. Sago is a type of palm plant that can grow in areas that have abundant air sources and increase the production of sago-based foodstuffs, one of which is sago chips, therefore cutting tools are needed to help the production process of sago chips become practical and efficient. The purpose of changing this cutting tool from manual to automatic is to activate and also save energy in the process of cutting sago chips. This sago chip cutting machine uses an electric motor as the main driving system.. The process carried out to make a sago chip cutting machine is starting from the frame design, machining process, welding. The components of the sago chip cutting machine are the frame, bracket blade, and cover. The sago chips cutting machine has dimensions of 300 mm long, 300 mm wide and 250 mm high. In the process of operation, this centrifugal machine uses a switch to activate an electric motor which then rotates the bracket blade to make sago chips, and the sago dough cutting machine can cut up to 14 Kg/Hour.
