Analisis Nilai Roughness Pada Copy Paper Dan Offset Paper
ABSTRACT
The roughness of the paper surface is an important parameter in paper making. Roughness is defined as the condition of the uneven surface of the paper, the basis for measuring it is how much air ml/min can come out of the surface of the paper. In this study the authors analyzed the roughness values of copy paper and offset paper. Observations were made on copy paper MR060670 and offset paper OR040680 which were produced at Paper Machine #3. The research was conducted using secondary data contained in the PMIS (Project Management Information System) and DCS (Distributed Control System). The data taken are: roughness, calender load, filler ratio, and refining load. The results of the analysis show that the higher the calender loading, the roughness will decrease, and the calender load value on copy paper ranges from 14-23 kN/m and on offset paper ranges from 15-26 kN/m. The higher the GCC ratio, the roughness will decrease, and the filler ratio on copy paper has a GCC ratio ranging from 10-25% and offset paper has a GCC ratio ranging from 60-90%. The higher the PCC ratio, the roughness will increase. The higher the refining load, the roughness will decrease, and the refining load value on copy paper ranges from 50-70 kW/h and on offset paper ranges from 60-100 kW/h.
