ABSTRACT
In the process of shredding oil palm leaves, the craftsmen still use manual methods using knives. To be able to help the craftsmen in the process of shrinking oil palm leaves that are faster, save energy, and produce more production, a machine was made to modify the shaved palm sticks. Palm oil kneading machine is a machine used to clean sticks from oil palm leaves. This machine uses cutter knife cleaning media and wire wheel brush, the way this machine works is that using a cutter knife produces half clean sticks, followed by using a wire wheel brush to produce clean sticks. The purpose of this final project is to make, assemble the palm oil oil sharpening machine, and be able to know the modification processes of the oil palm oil sharpening machine. The modifications of this palm oil sharpening machine include: shaft, pulley, bushing, pressure plate, cutter knife, wheel. The production process methods carried out include the lathe process, welding process, cutting process, bending process, and drilling process. The machine frame is made of elbow iron with a size of 40 mm x 40 mm x 4 mm with dimensions of length 600 mm x width 300 mm x height 850 mm. The electric motor used is 0.5 hp, with a rotation of 2800 rpm. The diameters of the small and large pulleys used are 75 mm and 152.4 mm. The shaft used 25.4 mm. The production of the sharpening machine uses a wire wheel brush of about 4kg / hour and uses a cutter knife of about 2 kg / hour.
