Perancangan Alat Penumbang Hewan Kurban Menggunakan Metode Value Engineering (Ve)
ABSTRACT
Qurban (sacrifice) is an activity carried out during the celebration of Eid al-Adha, and it is obligatory for those who are financially capable to perform this religious ritual. The process of sacrificing animals for qurban encounters issues due to frequent accidents caused by non-compliance with standards, making it prone to accidents. Moreover, the limited space in urban areas poses difficulties in the process of slaughtering and sacrificing the animals. Mosques and other institutions tend to use conventional methods for sacrificing animals, resulting in a time range of up to 30 minutes to slaughter a single cow. The expansion of residential areas further restricts the availability of vacant land for the slaughter. The objective of this research is to design a slaughtering device for qurban animals that can expedite the slaughter process and ensure the safety of the operators. The device's design is based on a series of processes, starting with the use of Value Engineering methods to gather data and information about the community's needs for the machine. The optimal design is achieved by considering the welfare of animals and safety aspects. Safety factors are calculated through stress analysis using Inventor software, with a safety factor value of 11.52, indicating that it is considered safe when the value is above one. Through value engineering, the cost is estimated at Rp 4,545,042, resulting in savings of 79.36% compared to previous research as a benchmark and 46.55% compared to market prices.
