ABSTRACT
In the conventional machining process, production costs are very necessary to know in order to determine the cost of making a product in each manufacturing industry, such as the Machining Workshop at SMK N 2 Pekanbaru. Machining production costs are calculated based on machining time per product and machining operating costs. In calculating conventional machining costs, Macro VBA Excel is an application that can be used to calculate production costs. The umbrella gear product Ø65mm × Z24 which is the case study of the research is a product that is carried out by two conventional machining processes, namely turning machining and milling machining. For conventional lathe machining costs, namely the manufacture of gear wheels, it is IDR 47.841 / product and for conventional milling processes, namely the manufacture of Z24 teeth, it is IDR 40.002 / product and for simulated machining costs for lathe master cams, it is IDR 33.187/ product and simulation machining costs. Frais mastercam is IDR 20.340- / product. The machining cost is the multiplication of the operating cost per minute (cm) and the machining time (tm). So, from the results of calculating machining costs and production costs, it is known that the cost of making a product or the Production Cost of the Ø65mm × Z24 Umbrella Gear is in the range of IDR 111.827 - 146.143/ product.
