This study aims to describe the types and functions of Representative speech acts at the
Indonesia Lawyer Club Event about the President Rejecting Termination. The method used is a
qualitative method with data collection techniques, free-lance listening techniques, and notetaking
techniques. The data analysis method used is to reduce the data, then proceed with
displaying the data, and drawing conclusions from the data analysis that has been done. Based on
the research, the data obtained were 93 data with the classification of representative speech acts:
assertive types whose function is stating, predictive types whose function is predicting,
retrodictive types whose function is reporting, descriptive types whose function is to categorize,
ascriptive types whose function is referring, informative types whose function is to inform,
confirmative types whose function is to prove, concessional types whose functions are
permitting, recrative types whose functions are justifying, assertive types whose functions are to
approve, discentive types whose functions are to disagree, dispulative types whose functions are
to question, responsive types whose functions are to answer, suggestive types whose functions
are to guess, types suppositive which its function assumes.
