Penerapan KIT Optik Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Pembelajaran IPA Siswa SMP Pada Materi Cahaya Dan Optik
Indonesia is currently facing the challenges of the 21st century, where there are rapid developments in all aspects, including aspects of science, technology and information dissemination. This leads students to have 21st century skills, one of which is the ability to think creatively. This ability can be trained and developed through science learning at school. The use of learning media, such as optical KIT through experimental learning is one way to train students' creative thinking skills which many teachers have not been able to utilize properly. So far, many students have experienced difficulties, especially in using optical KIT in physics learning, and many teachers still teach physics learning that has not used teaching aids in the learning process. Therefore, teachers must have the ability and skills in using teaching aids in the learning process, with the hope that students can develop their potential.
The purpose of this study was to describe the creative thinking ability of students with the application of optical KIT on light and optical materials and to test whether there are differences in the creative thinking ability of students in classes that apply optical KIT with classes that do not apply optical KIT. The benefits expected to be obtained from this research are for teachers, it is expected to be a consideration in choosing and applying learning approaches and methods that can improve students' creative thinking skills. For students, it is expected to improve their creative thinking skills, and make learning more competitive and informative.
This research was conducted at SMPN 4 Bathin Solapan in the even semester of 2022/2023. The population of this study consisted of 8 classes with a total of 229 students. The samples taken in this study were class VIII.6 and VIIII.8 with 28 students and 29 students respectively. The design of this research conducted was quasi-experiment, with post-test only control group design. This design consists of an experimental class and a control class. The classes selected for the experimental and control classes have been tested for normality and homogeneity. The experimental class was given treatment using optical KIT and the control class did not use optical

KIT. After completion of the treatment, both classes took a creative thinking ability test consisting of 20 items. The results obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using Independent Sample T-Test.
The results of descriptive analysis of students' creative thinking skills showed that the difference in the mean scores of classes that used optical KIT and classes that did not use optical KIT was positive by 32.3. Classes that apply optical KIT are in the high category and classes that do not apply optical KIT are in the low category. Inferentially obtained significant results ρ = 0.000, meaning that there is a significant difference between classes that apply optical KIT and classes that do not apply optical KIT on light and optical material with a confidence level of 95%.
Based on the results of descriptive and inferential analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that the application of optical KIT can improve students' creative thinking skills. Therefore, researchers recommend the application of optical KIT as an alternative in learning to improve students' creative thinking skills, especially science learning in junior high school on light and optics.
