Penggunaan Sarkasme Dalam Interaksi Sosial Masyarakat Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti

This study aims to describe the form, meaning and function of sarcasm in the social interactions of the people of the Meranti Islands Regency. The method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques, recording techniques, note-taking, observation and interviews. The data analysis method used is to reduce the data, then proceed with displaying the data, and drawing conclusions from the data analysis that has been done. Based on the research, the data obtained were 71 data with the classification of forms of sarcasm consisting of ridicule, satire and sarcasm functions. Then the meaning of sarcasm which consists of extended meaning, refined meaning, coarse meaning and totally changed meaning. And the function of sarcasm as delivery of orders, delivery of opinions, delivery of questions, delivery of information, function of greeting, function of equality and function of refusal.
