Pengaruh Bimbingan Kelompok Dengan Teknik Terapi Kognitif Dalam Upaya Menurunkan Kecemasan Sosial (Social Anxiety) Siswa Kelas X SMAN 1 Teluk Kuantan
Social anxiety is the worry or fear experienced by students in interacting with other people in a social environment (social interaction situation). Social anxiety is a feeling of fear when an individual is in a social situation, they are worried about the context of evaluation with strangers. In this study, cognitive therapy was effective in overcoming social anxiety based on a decrease in anxiety levels and changes in individual thoughts and behavior which were negative to become more positive. These cognitive strategies help identify thoughts that trigger social anxiety and replace them with more realistic thinking techniques.
This study entitled The Effect of Group Guidance Using Cognitive Therapy Techniques in Reducing Social Anxiety for Class X Students of SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan, aims to find out whether group guidance services using cognitive therapy techniques reduce social anxiety for students. class X SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan.
This research is a quantitative research with experimental research. The research population was students of class X2, X4, X5, X7, X8 and X9 with 8 (eight) students who were included in the high category of social anxiety status. The data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires about social anxiety which were then analyzed using a test with the help of SPSS version 20.
Group guidance results from the calculation of the determination of a decrease in social anxiety (social anxiety) of 33.2%. There is in the first indicator appearing in front of many people with a decrease in social anxiety of 24.2%. And with the indicator of expressing opinions in the second medium category position with a decrease in anxiety of 20.5%. Group guidance on social anxiety has an effect but not significant on the reduction of social anxiety because after managing the data, the calculated value of Sig is obtained. (2-tailed) is 0.134, which means (0.134>0.05). So group guidance services have a significant effect on reducing social anxiety (Social Anxiety) of class X SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan.
