Analisis Kesalahan Ejaan Pada Teks Eksplanasi Siswa SMP Negeri 7 Kecamatan Tanah Putih

One of the activities in everyday life that humans do is communication.
In communicating we use language. Language is divided into two, namely spoken
language or written language. In this research, the author takes a language study
regarding written language about analyzing spelling errors based on the writing
conventions of Enhanced Indonesian Spelling or what is known as EYD. The
analysis of writing errors was seen from the students' spelling based on letter
writing errors, word writing errors, and punctuation errors in the explanatory
text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 7 Tanah Putih District. The aim is to
find out how many spelling mistakes students make in their ability to write
explanatory texts based on errors in writing letters, writing words, and using
punctuation marks. The benefit is to add knowledge regarding the analysis of
spelling errors in junior high school students, then this research is expected as
student learning in writing, especially writing scientific papers and this research
is expected to be used as material for evaluating schools, especially teachers of
Indonesian language subjects.
